The Wonder of Christ's Birth

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Jesus is not a created being. He is eternal, fully divine, and coexistent with the Father and the Holy Spirit. The wonder of the Trinity may overwhelm our understanding, but it should stir our worship. This is no secondary doctrine; this is the very foundation of our faith. Jesus is the creator of all things, the eternal Son of God, the Word who became flesh. He is not just a historical figure born in Bethlehem. He is the everlasting God who took on humanity to dwell among us.

And this birth wasn’t random, it was foretold centuries earlier. Isaiah prophesied a virgin would give birth to Emmanuel, God with us. Micah foretold His birth in Bethlehem, a town of little significance, chosen to display God's glory through humility. The Prince of Peace arrived in the most humble of ways, born in a stable, laid in a feeding trough, and first announced to lowly shepherds. This wonder-filled birth changed everything. So let us marvel anew at the miracle of Christmas and respond as the shepherds did: With worship, with joy, and with a desire to share the good news of our Savior.
